Study of the Impact of Multiple Systems For Mobile/Handheld Digital Television
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), through its FASTROAD (Flexible Advanced Services for Television & Radio On All Devices) program is examining the impact of the possible introduction of multiple technology solutions for mobile/handheld DTV (M/H DTV) in the United States as compared to a single solution that may be standardized by the Advanced Television Standards Committee (ATSC). M/H DTV holds a tremendous potential for use of the digital spectrum by over-the-air television stations as these stations enter into an all-digital transmission environment and NAB is interested in whether the presence or lack of a single standard may impede the development of these services. The Effects of Receiver Quality On Network Infrastructure Deployment
The deployment of “Proven Performance”-enabled receivers within DVB-H networks can have a significant impact on capital expenditure when planning the network. Through the deployment of these types of receivers, large reductions in network operating costs can be achieved. In addition, “Proven Performance” receivers can enhance the user experience by providing more stable video reception, deeper indoor coverage, more programs, a reduction in power consumption and support a wider degree of mobility thereby leading to greater attach rates to those network operators. An Analysis of DVB-H Performance
The DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcast for Handheld) standard, which is the evolution of the well-established and proven DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast for Terrestrial) standard, has been thoroughly studied and field tested. DVB technologies offer great flexibility to achieve desired system performance while meeting a wide range of operator requirements. This document reviews several important performance metrics in the DVB-H standard. DVB-H has set the standard for TV broadcasting in the mobile environment when we consider 1) channel switching time, 2) use of hierarchical modulation and inherent robustness in a single frequency network (SFN), 3) power consumption, and 4) a healthy ecosystem. Mobile TV Options for North American Operators
A Point of View paper by Yoram Solomon, former president and chairman of the board for the Mobile DTV Alliance 2007 promises to be an exciting year for mobile phones. This is the year when mobile phones will begin offering live, premium broadcast TV content that consumers can access anywhere, anytime. Download.

The Economics of Mobile Broadcast TV
We are fortunate today to be on the verge of yet another technological revolution: the revolution of mobile broadcast TV. It has all the ingredients of a technological market disruption, exhibited before by the introductions of the Personal Computer, the Internet, the Walkman®, and the iPod®: Download.
