The Mobile DTV Alliance announced today that Nokia Siemens Networks, one of the worlds largest telecommunications infrastructure providers, has joined the MDTVA to help speed the global deployment of mobile digital TV. Earlier this year the MDTVA broadened its scope to include multiple bearer technologies and to concentrate on harmonizing the application and service layer.

The Mobile DTV Alliance announced today
that member company ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Limited (NASDAQ:
ICOG) has advanced mobile digital TV in North America to the next level with the
launch this week of its ICO G1 satellite, designed specifically to deliver mobile
applications. The satellite launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Monday, April 14.
The satellite launch, supported in part with contributions from three other MDTVA
members, makes ICO North Americas first operational Mobile Satellite Services (MSS)
provider in the S-band.

SAN RAMON, Calif. March 6, 2008 The Mobile DTV Alliance today announced an expansion in the scope of its activities to address the emerging mobile TV market. The Mobile DTV Alliance has extended its work on implementation guidelines to encompass the emerging Advanced Television System Committee standard for mobile broadcast ATSC-M/H and broadened the Mobile DTV Alliance charter to include industry collaboration activities with North American broadcasters.

October 31, 2006 - The Mobile DTV Alliance today announced that Hiwire LLC has joined the Alliance as a sponsor and board member, and that Scott Wills, president and COO of Hiwire will serve on the Board of Directors. Hiwire joins the board comprised of mobile technology leaders from Intel, Microsoft, Modeo, Motorola, Nokia, and Texas Instruments. The Mobile Digital TV Alliance is dedicated to refining and promoting DVB-H standards in North America. The North American market for Mobile TV consumer subscription services is expected to grow from $100 million today to $1.5 billion by 2010.

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has adopted the first official open standard for mobile digital video broadcasting. The publication of TIA-1105, or Terrestrial Mobile Multimedia Multicast based on Digital Video Broadcasting for Handheld Devices (DVB-H) System gives official recognition to the specification and application of the global DVB-H standard in the United States. This is an important step toward broad adoption of the standard in the USA. The TIA is a major contributor of open industry standards that support global trade and commerce in communications products and systems.
